Сборникъ статей о важнѣйшихъ открытiяхъ послѣднихъ лѣтъ въ общедоступномъ изложенiи.
Подъ редакцiей „Вѣстника Опытной Физики и Элементарной Математики“.

Въ 1905 г. книгоиздательство „Mathesis“ выпустило сборникъ статей по различнымъ физическимъ вопросамъ подъ заглавiемъ „Успѣхи физики“. Сборникъ этотъ въ свое время былъ оцѣненъ на страницахъ „Русской Мысли“. Въ настоящее время мы видимъ передъ собой продолженiе „Успѣховъ физики“. Второй выпускъ „Успѣховъ физики“ даетъ ясное представленiе о тѣхъ горизонтахъ, которые открываются предъ глазами современныхъ ученыхъ, базирующихся почти всюду на мiросозерцанiи, которое можетъ быть названо научнымъ реализмомъ. Передовая статья въ сборникѣ проф. Планка какъ нельзя лучше выясняетъ этотъ фундаментъ грандiознаго зданiя современной физики. Изданiе сборника, равно какъ и переводъ не оставляютъ желать ничего лучшаго. Цѣна книги сравнительно невысока.

Второй выпускъ сборника обладаетъ тѣми же положительными сторонами, что и первый: т.-е. содержательностью, ясностью изложенiя и полной научностью статей.

За исключенiемъ послѣднихъ двухъ статей, говорящихъ о примѣненiи на практикѣ успѣховъ физики, первыя пять излагаютъ сущность теоретической разработки различныхъ наиболѣе интересныхъ вопросовъ физической науки.

Подборъ статей даетъ яркую картину современнаго состоянiя физики. Въ сборникѣ совсѣмъ не затронутъ „принципъ относительности“. Редакцiя объясняетъ этотъ пропускъ тѣмъ, что нельзя было отыскать ни одной статьи, дающей о немъ дѣйствительно ясное представленiе не спецiалисту.
